Who doesn’t love a great blanket? Their comfort and warmth is there for us when we sleep, when we're getting cozy on the couch for a lazy weekend, and when we're sitting by a campfire on a chilly autumn evening.
But most blankets aren't built for the outdoors -- and they definitely aren't built for the type of rainy weather we experience here in the Pacific Northwest.
Wool blankets can be beautiful and durable, but they're also bulky and heavy. Down comforters are comfortable, but they're definitely not made to be used outside. Not to mention, down is an ethically-questionable material.
Here at Belmont Blanket, we set out to design a blanket that provides the warmth of a high-quality comforter with the style and function of a wool blanket. And we wanted to be able to take it outside, to use while hiking, camping, or hanging out next to a waterfall. We set out to embrace style, without sacrificing functionality. And that is how the Belmont Blanket was born.
Our blankets are multifunctional, indoor/outdoor blankets. They're great for cuddling on the couch, car camping, or throwing a picnic in a park. The top layer is completely waterproof, while the inside layer is a plush performance fleece or wool. And they roll up into a compact shape that's easy to bring with you, wherever you might go.
Portland's weather inspired this blanket, and we’re proud to continue calling Portland home. We're dedicated to producing our products locally, while maintaining a reasonable price point.
